THANK YOU HALEY FOR PROVING THE JUDGES WRONG.
The negative comments she received for “You And I” were simply UNFATHOMABLE to me, especially after Jacob bombed in round 1 and still got praise (and I normally think Jacob is OK or good).
I am SO HAPPY she came back, stayed focused, and FINALLY got the credit she deserved with “House of the Rising Sun”.
I was going to vote for both Lauren and Haley tonight, but now I am throwing every vote to Haley to make sure she stays.
That said, Lauren was AMAZING tonight, and the girls outshined all of the guys except Durbin on his 2nd performance.
My rankings:
1. Haley Reinhart, Rising Sun, 11/10
2. James Durbin, Without You, 9.5/10
3. Lauren Alaina, Flat on the Floor, 9.5/10
4. Lauren Alaina, Unchained Melody, 9.5/10
5. Haley Reinhart, You and I, 9/10
6. James Durbin, Closer to the Edge, 8.5/10
7. Scotty McCreery, You Were Always On My Mind, 8/10
8. Jacob Lusk, Love Hurts, 8/10
9. Scotty McCreery, Gone, 7.5/10
10. Jacob Lusk, No Air, 3/10

Kudos to Haley for a stellar performance...I actually voted for her for the first time this season!
As for Jacob, "No Air"??? WTF!!! He had me gasping for air..He needs to go!
Chris...maybe Earl can get you an interview with Jacob...

I just watched The Voice for the first time and I personally didn't enjoy it at all. I never realized, until seeing that show, how much I really enjoy all the "back story" of the American Idol finalists. It makes me care about and root for them. AI is more than just a singing contest, (for me) it's about taking a kid and turning them into a star, and helping to make their dreams come true.
The Voice just isn't for me at all.

Chris..I disagree with you regarding your comment about Carole King songs not being relevant..A few nights ago, on "Glee" the cast paid tribute to Flettwood Mac's "Rumours" album..they made it current and relevant...It can be done..good music is good music!

I really think the pimp slot helped Haley. She won't have it next week. After tonight, I'm betting on Lauren getting it.
Man, J-Lo and her pants. I can't believe nobody told her how they looked. Never mind the song.

VERY happy with this Top Four, whoever wins I'll be fine.
However, this week's upcoming theme is ATROCIOUS -- LEIBER AND STOLLER, REALLY?!?!?!?!

How many years do you think American Idol will stay on the air (for Matt)?
