For character Scotty is a really nice guy and sings well. Having said that he is not in the same league has some of the others in the talent stakes. Yet i have a feeling that he may still win. Surely James and Casey on performance and talent are some way in front.
Its the same ole thing with reality TV - Popularity or talent?

I did not think Casey would or necessarily should have won but he was never boring to watch and is a great musician. I had hoped Jacob would go first since he cannot possibly win either. Oh well at least we still have James and Haley for somewhat interesting performances. Scotty and Lauren are not old enough to be interesting and are a good case for raising not lowering the bottom age limit. I am rooting for James and Haley to make it to the end since the thought of an all country finale is too awful for words.

LOVE next week's themes, then (1960s) and now!!!!!!!

    Haley:

1960s -- Whoever said Dream A Little Dream Of Me is genius, that would be perfect for her and she can have a tender moment!

Current Song: I wonder if they mean current chart-toppers only, or 21st Century again. Either way, I'd LOVE Haley to sing Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri!

Or, as an ode to Jimmy, she can sing Pink's "F----- Perfect"!

    James Durbin:

    1960s: Led Zeppelin hello!!!!!!!!!!

Current song: With two performances this week, I would LOVE James to take on Animal by Neon Trees, it's perfect for his voice.

Also, if James and Haley ever did a duet, they should do Barton Hollow by The Civil Wars, it would be amazing!

    Jacob Lusk:

1960s: Sittin' On the Dock of the Bay, he'd slay it especially in the low register that I loved when I first saw him in Hollywood.

Current Song: Cee Lo Green's Forget You, so Jacob can loosen up and have some fun while still getting plenty of vocal changes to work with.

    Scotty McCreery:

1960s: Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire, the traditional version (not Lambert's one), or Jim Croce's You Don't Mess Around With Jim, he'd be perfect for that one cause it's a great way to showcase his storytelling skills.

Current Song: He could go straight country and pick anything from the country charts he feels comfortable with (Jason Aldean comes to mind), or he could possibly surprise us and do something that crosses over. I think he'll stay country, though.

    Lauren Alaina:

1960s: Son of a Preacher Man is tailor-made for her.

Current Song: Unlike Scotty, I think Lauren could tackle the right crossover song and really surprise us all. If she stays country, I sense a Taylor Swift alert, which would really suit her well come to think of it, especially considering Taylor is the ultimate crossover country girl at the moment (along with Carrie).

If James is considered the best of what's left or even the best of the night, then this season is officially a dud.
After a promising beginning with the auditions and vegas rounds, this has easily turned into one of the most forgettable AI seasons. I honestly don't know if I'll be tuning in next year as I barely watch any of the show now.

After one epsiode, The Voice is turning out to be more interesting and relevant to me.
